Mayers announced himself on the world stage in fantastic fashion with a superb double-century against Bangladesh which helped the West Indies to an historic win in the first Test at Chattogram in February 2021. That innings of 210 not out came off 310 balls and included 20 fours and seven sixes as West Indies made 395-7 to record one of the most amazing victories in the game’s history. Mayers joined an elite list of cricketers with this feat. He joined Gordon Greenidge as the only other player to score a double in a winning cause. It was also the highest fourth innings score in Asia going past the unbeaten 171 by Younis Khan against Sri Lanka. Mayers is a strongly built left-handed middle-order batsman and right-arm seam bowler. He is a former West Indies U19 player and played in ICC U19 World Cup in Australia and later went on to represent Barbados Pride and Windward Islands Volcanoes in the regional four-day and Super50 tournaments. He also represented Barbados Tridents in CPL when they won in 2014.
