RAIN RUINS THIRD ODI

RAIN RUINS THIRD ODI

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – Not a ball was bowled in the third Colonial Medical One-day International between WINDIES and England on Monday here.

The adverse weather forced a delayed toss and also stalled the revised 10:35 am start with the hosts set to bat, after England won the toss.

Ground-staff were kept busy bringing on and taking off the covers on the playing area throughout the day, as rain continued practically non-stop.

The match, which marked the 100th ODI for Darren Bravo, was abandoned around 2 ½ hours before the scheduled close with the WINDIES left-hander unable to get a hit.

WINDIES defeated the top-ranked visitors by 26 runs on Friday at Kensington Oval to tie the five-match series at 1-1, after England won a high-scoring first ODI by six wickets two days earlier at the same venue.
