A tall elegant right-handed middle-order batsman who can also bowl accurate leg-spin, he made his international debut at age 21 in 2011 against England at the Oval when he appeared in T20I Series. He later was in the squad to play against Australia in 2012 at Beausejour in St Lucia six months later. He had some steady performances in regional cricket but was unable to break into the international team. He got another opportunity in Bangladesh in February 2021 and was hugely impressive and won the Player-of-the-Series award as West Indies made a clean sweep of the two-match series. He scored 17 and 86 on debut at Chattogram and then 90 and 38 in the second match at Mirpur. A month later he showed more improvement with a maiden Test century against Sri Lanka in Antigua at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium – 113 not out in the second innings. This earned him the Man-of-the-Match award the drawn match. He is a former Jamaica U19 vice captain, where he showed his early talent and also represented the West Indies the 2008 ICC U19 World Cup in Malaysia.
