Ashmini Munisar
Ashmini began playing competitive cricket at the age of 15, only playing at home with friends and family in her community of Berbice. Munisar is proud of the rich cricketing history in her community which has generatedthe likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Alvin Kallicharan.
She has represented her club team, Rose Hall Canje Cricket Club, her school team, New Amsterdam Multilateral Secondary School, Berbice at Under 19 and senior levels and her native Guyana, at Under 19 and Senior level as well, along with now captaining the West Indies Rising Stars Under 19s.
She has three cricketing idols: She admires Virat Kohli for the passion and aggression he brings to the game, and draws her main inspiration from the current and most recent former West Indies captains, Hayley Matthews and Stefanie Taylor respectively.
Ashmini has seen some early success in the sport. Her most memorable being back-to-back wickets in her regional debut in 2022 at senior level. Her coaches are credited with playing the biggest role in her development so far, both at club and national team level.
