The upcoming ICC Women’s World T20 promises to be a historic, action-packed and entertaining event and ambassador, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, has already begun to stir up the crowds ahead of the triple-header slated for November 9 in Guyana. Chanderpaul shared batting techniques with the fans at the local Mother & Daughter Cricket Event and invited everyone to rally around the WINDIES Women.

Chanderpaul, who is a Cricket West Indies Ambassador for the tournament, feels the defending champions “have a good chance of winning again.”

He added, “I’m backing them and I want them to know that I’m with them, the supporters are with them and the whole Caribbean is with them for this tournament. We have the quality players in our team to go out and get the job done.”

The legendary left-hander feels the home support can give the regional ladies an extra boost. He went on to say, “We are a cricket-loving country – actually we are a cricket-crazy country … any time you mention cricket here in Guyana everyone is ready. We are one of those nations which love sports.”
