At Queens Park Oval:

Colin Archibald Leewards

Leeward Islands Hurricanes currently in second place in the points standing had an excellent day highlighted by two things. A Caribbean domestic record 10th wicket partnership of 154 runs between day one centurion Colin Archibald who ended unbeaten with 106 (109 balls,13x4, 4x6) and Daniel Doram 43 (95 balls, 6x4, 1x6). The pair broke the previous 10th wicket record of 124 runs between Preston McSween and Sherman Lewis versus Guyana in 2021/22.

Archibald’s score was also the highest by a number 10 batsman regionally, eclipsing Franklin Rose's 96 versus Leeward Islands in 1996/97.

Then, after posting 333 in their first innings the Hurricanes' bowling effort was led by their captain Rakheem Cornwall who ended the day with (22-5-61-5), his 21st first-class five wicket haul, as the Windward Islands Volcanoes were bowled out for 173. The Volcanoes innings could have been worse outside of the resistance shown by vice-captain Keron Cottoy 73 (97 balls, 13x4).
