Joshua Da Silva
The steady right-handed middle-order batsman and agile wicket-keeper first emerged on the scene as a member of the West Indies Emerging Players team which played for sensational cricket to capture the CG Insurance Super 50 title in November 2019. He was also impressive for Trinidad & Tobago Red Force in the regional four-day competition with a top-score of 113 not out. He was named among the traveling reserves for the tour of England in 2020 as international cricket made a return following the challenges faced with the restrictions implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He showed glimpses of his ability with a century in the inter-squad match at Old Trafford and got a taste of the Test arena when he came on as a substitute wicket-keeper. He then made his Test debut later that year on the tour of New Zealand and started with a half century – 57 at the Basin Reserve in Wellington. He then blossomed in February 2021 when he batted with great resilience and purpose to help West Indies earn a clean sweep against Bangladesh in Bangladesh. He scored 42 and 20 in the first Test and went better with 92 and 20 in the next match – featuring in a crucial match-wining partnership with Nkrumah Bonner. In September 2021 he was a member of the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots which won the CPL.
