Djenaba is the brother of former West Indies Under 19 player, Mbeki Joseph and began playing cricket at the age 9 years old at home with him. They grew up in community of San Fernando, where family and friends love cricket and are encouraging along the journey. She credits this as a big motivator for her.
Djenaba made her senior West Indies Women’s team debut in a T20I on December 10, 2022, after representing the Achievers Women CC and Phoenix CC domestically, the Trinidad & Tobago women Under 19 and senior teams, and the West Indies Rising Stars Under 19 team. She considers Merissa Aguillera, former West Indies captain and now the West Indies Rising Stars Under 19 team manager, to be one of her idols due to the courage with which she carries herself on and off the field. Sir Vivian Richards is also one of her idols, as she aims to accomplish his level of fearlessness in her approach, on her journey to become one of the best batting all-rounders in the world.
She considers her best performance in the sport so far to be a 53* in the Rising Stars regional Under 19 tournament.
