Cephas Cooper
He will appear quiet, and perhaps a little bit shy, but on the cricket field, Cephas Cooper is a giant of a youth cricketer. He has been a highlight for his secondary school in his native Trinidad during the Secondary Schools Cricket League. From there, he has managed to transfer his success to his club, and has only managed to keep getting better and better. His rise was evident when he led a 14-member T&T team to the Cricket West Indies Regional Under-19 tournament in St Vincent in August, 2018.
Cephas also represented the West Indies at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup earlier in the same year. He is a right hand batsman, who bowls right arm off-break. He hails from a small village in south Trinidad called Marac in Moruga. That's deep south. The village maybe far away from the city, but it has a rich cricket history. Cooper is now part of that history. He's a T&T Under-17 and West Indies Under-19 player.
His journey to the T&T youth teams has been as far as he lives. It's no easy task travelling across the country just to play cricket and then take the trek back home. He hopes to complete school with all his passes and continue accelerating in his cricket career.
