McCaskie bats Pride to victory over Red Force
Barbados Pride needed just 54 minutes on the fourth and final day of the fourth round of the West Indies Championship as they defeated Trinidad and Tobago Red Force by seven wickets at the Queen’s Park Oval on Saturday. Resuming the day needing 66 runs for victory, Zachary McCaskie once against led the Pride with the bat as he brought up his second half-century of the match. Overnight batsman Jomel Warrican struck a six and four on his way to 12 runs before being bowled by Bryan Charles. Jonathan Drakes struck five fours to finish the match on 27 not out with McCaskie on 55 not out.

Barbados will play the Windward Islands Volcanoes in the fifth round at the Queen’s Park Oval, starting on March 29.
Guyana pummel Jamaica to stay on course atop the points table

Resuming the final day on their overnight score of 176-1 Jamaica lost nine wickets for 53 to be all out for 229, losing the match by 229 runs. Tevin Gilzene added four runs to his overnight score before he was trapped LBW by Kevin Sinclair for 85. Jermaine Blackwood added 14 to his overnight score before Sinclair had him caught for 80 and the Scorpions collapse started. Sinclair was the pick of the Guyana bowlers, finishing with figures of 18.2-4-37-4 followed by Ronsford Beaton with 17-3-85-3.
Volcanoes take victory over Hurricanes by 6 wickets

The Leeward Islands Hurricanes lost their last five wickets for 45 runs in their second innings, setting the Windward Islands Volcanoes 173 for victory. Montcin Hodge top-scored in the Leewards second innings with a patient 59 from 132 deliveries. Preston was the magician with the ball for the Volcanoes picking up a fifer, finishing with second innings figures of 13-0-39-5.
With the Volcanoes scoring at over four runs per over, Sunil Ambris 40 not out, Alick Athanaze 38 and Keron Cottoy 37 took the Volcanoes to victory just after the tea interval.
“It was a very good match, normally when these two teams meet the cricket is always very exciting. It looked like it was shaping up to be a draw but at the end of Day 3 when we had them 99-5 we knew we could win this, thanks to McSween for his fifer bowling brilliantly and assisted by Shermon Lewis. We have to keep being positive and playing together as a team, to keep the unity and we’re just happy we could have won. We’re not focused on where we are on the table. We as a unit are building and to keep having good performances as a habit and grow.”
The fifth and final round of matches starts on Wednesday 29 March with Guyana Harpy Eagles hosting the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the Guyana National Stadium, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force will face Jamaica Scorpions at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy and Barbados Pride vs Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Queen’s Park Oval.
