PROVIDENCE, Guyana – Jamaica booked their spot in the semifinals of the CG United Women’s Super50 Cup after they defeated the Windward Islands by eight wickets via the Duckworth/Lewis/Stern method.

In a rain-shortened match, the Windward Islands were sent into bat first. They posted 101-9 in their allotted 33 overs thanks to 23 not out off 57 balls by Japhina Joseph and 21 off 34 balls from Carena Noel. Bowling for Jamaica, skipper Stafanie Taylor had the best figures of 7-1-22-3 while the other off-spinner, Vanessa Watts was equally impressive with 8-2-10-2.

In their run-chase, Jamaica a top-knock from Rashada Williams 43 not out (69 balls 5x4) and skipper Stafanie Taylor 36 not out (50 balls, 6x4) powered Jamaica to their revised 100-run target in just 23.2 overs. Pearl Etienne was the lone Windwards bowlers to pick up wickets, finishing with figures of 5-1-15-2.

Rashada Williams who was back in the runs said: “It feels extremely awesome to be back in the runs. I’ve gotten starts but it was just for me to carry on and today I just decided to apply myself and get some runs and come in not out. I’m looking to keep on scoring big and winning the double.”
