West Indies Test team to finalize preparations with Warm Up match
The West Indies Head Coach, Phil Simmons, assessed the Test squad's state of preparation at the final training session ahead of the warm-up match against BCB XI to be held at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram.
The warm-up match is scheduled to begin on Friday at 9:30AM local time, 11:30PM (Thursday, January 28) Eastern Caribbean and 10:30PM Jamaica.
Coach Simmons shared:
"The main thing I’m looking for is an understanding of how they are going to bat in these upcoming games. It’s up to them in this 3-day game to put things together and make sure they know how they are going to score when the time comes.”
“And as for the bowling, everywhere in the world you go is different lengths, different lines so they have to know how they are going to adjust.”
Having arrived in Bangladesh in early January to allow sufficient time get acclimatized to the conditions, Simmons believes the warmup match is the perfect opportunity for the men from the Caribbean to finalise their mental and physical preparation for the upcoming Test series.
According to Simmons, all the players will have a chance to showcase their talents in the warmup game, before any decision is made on the final XI for the first Test, scheduled to begin on February 3.
