Defending champions Barbados have been in sparkling form while the USA Under 19 "1" team has so far emerged as one of the tournaments more impressive sides, after the first three rounds of the Rising Stars Men's Under-19 50-over Championships in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The competition commenced on 3 July with USA U-19 "1"’s stunning 13-run victory over Jamaica at St Mary's Park.

Saharsh Shwethan's magnificent 85 off 97 balls was the catalyst for the victory as USA recovered from 109-8 to post 209 all out.

Jamaica appeared well-set to achieve the target as openers Tyriek Bryan (58) and Kev'Aundre Virgo (51) shared a 117-run partnership, but Utkarsh Srivastava's 4-31 triggered a collapse that saw them finish on 196, agonizingly short of the required total.

Barbados began their title defence with an overwhelming 140-run defeat of Guyana

Captain Joshua Dorne (63) and opener Zachary Carter (62) led the way to 287-6, before R'Jai Gittens' 4-26 restricted Guyana to 147 all out in 31.3 overs.

The opening round also saw the Windward Islands edge their Leeward Islands counterparts by five runs in a low-scoring affair.

Windwards defended their modest total of 124 as Kirt Murray, Kirsten Murray and Darvin Forde each claimed three wickets in Leewards collapse from 40-1 to 119 all out.

Trinidad and Tobago scraped past USA Under 19 "2" by one wicket in a dramatic finish. They successfully chased 260 with five balls to spare after Cristian Rampersaud (49*) and Aadian Racha (42) added 70 runs for the ninth wicket.

The second round on 6 July saw both unbeaten teams continue their impressive form.

Barbados registered, at the time, the tournament's highest total of 295-8 against Trinidad and Tobago, with Dorne (79) and Carter (78) both notching their second consecutive half-centuries. Gittens claimed another four-wicket haul to dismiss T&T for 151 in reply.

USA Under 19 "1" put the tournament on official notice with their defeat of Guyana. Sahir Bhatia's 3-14 and Supransh Kumar's 3-23 restricted them to 150 in 44.2 overs before Saharsh Shwethan's unbeaten 45 guided the Americans to a seven-wicket victory.

The Windward Islands remained unbeaten with a nerve-wracking four-run win over Jamaica. Chasing 197 and despite David Dewar's 72, the Jamaicans collapsed to 192 all out with one over still to come in their innings.

Leeward Islands secured their first victory by defeating USA Under 19 "2" by three wickets. Set 142 to win after USA were dismissed for 141 in 31.1 overs, Leewards captain Matthew Miller's unbeaten 52 capped off a decisive all-round performance after he had earlier taken 4-23 with the ball.

The third round on 9 July saw USA Under 19 "1"’s most dominant performance as Sahil Garg punished Trinidad and Tobago with the tournament's first century, a brilliant 111 off 129 balls, to help his side to a healthy 300-8 from their 50 overs.

Adnit Jhamb's 5-57 scythed through Trinidad and Tobago’s lower order and they were eventually dismissed for 207.

Barbados prolonged their victorious start to the competition with an eight-wicket demolition of the Leeward Islands.

Damani Roach and Raphael Lovell shared six wickets equally in the Leewards’ innings of 154 all out before opening batsman Micah Greenidge's explosive 85 off 74 balls carried the Bajans safely home in 25.3 overs.

Jamaica finally registered their first victory with a thrilling five-run win over Guyana.

After electing to bat first, the Jamaicans managed 260 all out while Guyana fell just short of the winning total after they were dismissed in the final over of their innings for 255. Jamaica’s Kev'Aundre Virgo took 4-37.

The match between the Leeward Islands and USA Under 19 "2" ended as a no-result due to persistent rain. Only 24 overs were possible in Windward Islands’ innings.

After three rounds, Barbados and USA Under 19 "1" remain the only unbeaten sides with three victories each, while the Windward Islands have two wins from three matches.
