Bowlers dominate in second round of Rising Stars Under 15s

Bowlers held the upperhand on Thursday in the second round of the Rising Stars Under 15s tournament in Antigua. Trinidad & Tobago got their second win to go top of the points table.

Playing at Liberta Sports Club, they bowled out Windward Islands for 71 and then raced to 75-3 off just 11.5 overs. Windwards had an opening stand of 45 but the innings then fell apart. The leading bowlers for Trinidad & Tobago were Yasir Deen with 4-1-9-3 and Brendan Boodoo 4-0-9-3.

At Sir Vivian Richards Stadium: Guyana rebounded from their first round defeat against Trinidad & Tobago to get the better of Jamaica. The Guyanese made 121 off 42.2 overs and then bowled out Jamaica for 96 off 32.1 overs. The best bowler was Nicoli McKenzie, who took 4-25 from eight overs.

At Coolidge Cricket Ground: Led by Kunal Tilokani, who had excellent figures of 7.4-1-17-4, Leeward Islands defeated Barbados on the Duckworth/Lewis/Stern method. Tilokani was well supported by Amoree Jones with 7-0-19-3 as the Bajans made 129 off 41.4 overs. The Leewards then replied with 78-7 off 18 overs to win by three wickets with two overs to spare.
