Awesome Anisa rises to No. 5

West Indies Women’s offspinner Anisa Mohammed rose five places to a career-best fifth in the latest ICC ODI Bowling Rankings after a strong showing in the team’s 3-1 series victory over Pakistan, which finished on Saturday. The Player-of-the-Series snared 14 victims in four matches at just 3.57 apiece, which earned her 37 rating points for a total of 606. She eclipsed her teammate Stafanie Taylor (603), who moved up two spots to sixth after taking five wickets at 9.60. England’s Katherine Blunt (783) currently tops the Bowling chart, followed by India’s Jhulan Goswami (763) and Australia’s Lisa Sthalekar (750). Taylor, who also scored 55 runs at an average of 18.33, maintained her number two position in the Batting Rankings and her number one position in the Allrounder Rankings. Deandra Dottin (16th), who managed 37 runs in four innings, is the only other West Indian in the Batting top 20 while Indian Mithali Raj is in first. -First published in the Trinidad Guardian
