Best friends Bishoo and Permaul to meet as Windies face Sagicor HPC
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Best friends Devendra Bishoo and Veerasammy Permaul will face each other on opposite sides on Thursday when the West Indies take on Sagicor High Performance Centre in a 50-over match.
The two teams will meet at the International Cricket Council’s Global Cricket Academy at the Dubai Sports City. First ball is 10 am (2 am Eastern Caribbean Time/1 am Jamaica Time).
The Windies are in Dubai for a one-week camp as they prepare for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. The Sagicor HPC are on an official tour of Dubai where they have played against UAE, UAE Blues and Afghanistan in the CaribAsian Series.
Bishoo, the 25-year-old right-arm leg-spinner, and the Permaul, the 22-year-old left-arm spinner, both hail from the Albion area in Berbice, Guyana and have played a lot of cricket together. In recent years they have formed a good combination for Guyana in regional four-day and one-day cricket.
Bishoo made his international debut earlier this year and earlier this month won the Emerging Player of the Year award at the ICC’s annual awards ceremony.
