2nd Warm up Match -- West Indies v. Ireland
WORMSLEY, England -- The West Indies players will have another chance to get fully ready for the upcoming International Cricket Council’s World Twenty20 2009 Championship, when they face Ireland in an unofficial warm-up match on Saturday.
The two teams will meet at the picturesque John Paul Getty Ground in Wormsley in what will be an opportunity to get in crucial preparation for both sides. The West Indies had their first Twenty20 match against Scotland on Thursday where they played well in all departments and won by 14 runs.
After Saturday’s match the West Indies will switch to the official warm-up matches against Ireland at the Oval on June 2 and England at Lord’s on June 3. The ICC’s World’s Twenty20 Championship will be played from June 5-21. The West Indies first match will be against Australia at the Oval on June 6 followed by a meeting with Sri Lanka at Trent Bridge on June 10.
