Decisions from WICB Executive Committee meeting

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- The following decisions were taken on Wednesday at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the West Indies Cricket Board Inc. as the West Indies Team prepares for the upcoming International Cricket Council’s Champions Trophy limited-overs tournament to be played in South Africa in September and October.

Coach

The services of Mr. John Dyson have been terminated with immediate effect.  The Assistant Coach, Mr. David Williams will fill this position on a temporary basis for this tour.


Manager

In view of the special circumstances pertaining to this tour, the former West Indies Vice Captain and off spin bowler, Mr. Lance Gibbs has been appointed the Team Manager.

Mr. Omar Khan, the incumbent Manager, has been temporarily assigned to the preparation and management of the West Indies Under-19 team for the International Cricket Council’s Youth World Cup in New Zealand in 2010.


Selection Committee

The Board had previously agreed that a selector will travel with the team on all overseas tours. The Chairman of the Selection Committee, Mr. Clyde Butts, will therefore accompany the team on this tour.
