Roach fit to face Australia on Saturday
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- The West Indies camp received good news on Friday as fast bowler Kemar Roach was declared fit to face Australia for their ICC Champions Trophy Group A match at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on Saturday morning.
First ball is 9.30 am (3.30 am Eastern Caribbean Time/2.30 am Jamaica Time).
Team physiotherapist C.J. Clark said he was extremely pleased with the way Roach responded to treatment and praised the fast bowler for his professionalism and commitment. During Friday morning’s net session at the Witswaterand University Ground, Roach bowled flat out for several overs and also batted for 20 minutes without bother.
Roach, the 21-year-old fast bowler missed the first match against Pakistan on Wednesday night as he was recovering from an ankle injury sustained during the official warm-up match against South Africa, a week ago.
