Richards suffers shoulder injury

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa -- West Indies opening batsman suffered an injury to his right shoulder during Saturday’s Group A ICC Champions Trophy match against Australia and was unable to bat. The right-hander fell awkwardly while fielding and left the field immediately for treatment.

He is expected to have a full assessment on Sunday and will continue to get treatment on a daily basis. It is hoped he will be available for selection for Wednesday’s day/night match against India at the Wanderers.

On Saturday the West Indies lost to Australia by 50 runs. The Aussies made 275-8 off their 50 overs and the Windies replied with 225 off 46.5 overs.
