Fans can see and hear WICB President?s Cup 2009

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- Cricket fans can “Catch the Action!” in the West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) President’s Cup One-Day Tournament as all 15 matches will be broadcast on radio stations across the region. Fans all over the world can also log on to and follow the link for “live coverage”.

The WICB has formed a partnership with the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) to make the matches available to cricket lovers. The production is being done by Line & Length, who did a similar job during the WICB’s four-day tournament and the two international series in the Caribbean earlier this year – West Indies vs England and West Indies vs Bangladesh.

West Indies fast bowling legend Curtly Ambrose headlines the broadcast panel and is one of the comments personalities who will be giving thoughtful and insightful analysis. In an outstanding international career, which spanned 12 years, Ambrose took 405 wickets in 98 Tests and 225 wickets in 176 One-Day Internationals and was one of the all-time greats of the game. The voices of several well known commentators can also be heard as they bring the ball-by-ball details and help the listeners to “Catch the Action”.

Another feature being made available to viewers will be a 30-minute television highlights package. At the end of each match day highlights from two of the four matches will be aired on CMC’s CaribVision.

The semi-finals (Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3) and the grand final on Thursday, November 5 will be played under lights at the Guyana National Stadium at Providence and highlights from these three matches will also be aired on CaribVision after the conclusion. So fans can stay tuned to CaribVision for the schedule of the highlights packages.
