Amazing Chanderpaul reaches 19000 runs in first-class cricket

Shivnarine Chanderpaul on Thursday achieved another magical milestone in his outstanding cricket career. The ever-reliable left-hander reached 19 000 in his first-class career as he made 20 in the second for Lancashire against Somerset in their English County Championship match.

In the first innings of the match he made 56 – his 97th first-class half-century and now his numbers show 19 007 runs in 260 first-class match in a career which has spanned 18 years. Unfortunately he ended up on the losing side as Somerset had an easy victory by nine wickets at the County Ground in Taunton.
