Dwayne Bravo grabs key wicket of Sangakkara before lunch
Galle, Sri Lanka - West Indies bowlers put in a spirited bowling performance on the third morning to grab two wickets as Sri Lanka reached 148-3 at lunch at the Galle International Stadium.
Starting the day on 54-1 in reply to West Indies mammoth 580-9 declared, the hosts lost skipper Kumara Sangakkara and Tharanga Paranavitana – both bowled through the gate. Fast bowler Kemar Roach and seamer Dwayne Bravo took the wickets.
Sangakarra made an entertaining 73 but Bravo produced a superb yorker which breached his defence 15 minutes before the lunch. Roach, who was consistently clocking over 90 mph on the flat pitch, accounted Paranavitana in his first over of the day and the third of the morning, bringing one back to knock the off-stump out of the ground.
At the break Mahela Jayawardene was on 35 and Thilan Samaraweera on 10.
