Kirk Edwards hits 111 not out for Wanderers
Bridgetown, Barbados – West Indies batsman Kirk Edwards hit a classy century on Saturday for his club Wanderers in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Division 1 competition. The 26-year-old right-hander who recently returned home after the One-Day Series in Sri Lanka was called off, is on 111 not out after the second day of the three-day match. His innings, which has so far come off 133 balls with 14 boundaries, has helped Wanderers to 209-6 in reply 335 made by Carlton at the Desmond Haynes Oval. With one day's play left Edwwards will be looking for a massive score as he uses the match as preparation for next month's Caribbean T20 tournament. Two other members of the Barbados team also recorded centuries. Opening batsman Rashidi Boucher hit 103 off 109 balls for title-chasers Spartan against lowly Dover at Queen’s Park, while the hard-hitting Alcindo Holder cracked 113 for Empire as they took full control against the struggling Police side at Bank Hall.
