Windwards into semis after humbling Jamaica
Bridgetown, Barbados – A complete team performance by the Windward Islands rifled them to the top of Group B and assured them of a place in the semi final.
Windwards batted with vigour and vitality to post a most competitive 165 for 5 with Star of the Match Devon Smith – announced as a member of the WIndies World Cup squad the day before – hammering 58 from 39 balls with six classic fours and one maximum.
The enterprising Keddy Lesporis made an even 50 from 40 balls with three fours and a six as he and Smith put on 91 runs for the third wicket after Johnson Charles (25) and Andre Fletcher (19) had handed the Windwards another flying start.
