LUNCH: Polius strikes three times

Cave Hill, Barbados – A brilliant over from off-spinner Dalton Polius of the Windward Islands was the highlight of the morning session on the third day of the WICB First-class semi-final against Combined Campuses & Colleges.

The 20-year-old St Lucian took three wickets in the space of four balls to put the CCC innings in a spin. His first ball of the day was launched out of the ground by left-hander Raymon Reifer. Next ball, Reifer played a flashing drive and was caught at cover by Keddy Lesporis. Next ball Floyd Reifer was LBW as he played back to a straight ball. Two balls later Carlos Brathwaite was snapped up at short backward square by skipper Liam Sebastien.

At the break Polius had 4-40 from 18 overs and off-spinner Sebastien had 3-45 from 24 overs and was also excellent with the ball. Opener Romel Currency went into the break on 66 not out and holds the key to the CCC innings. He followed up his 95 in the first innings.
