Collymore stars in Middlesex win

London, England, CMC – Corey Collymore’s Middlesex trounced Kent by nine wickets less than half hour into the third day of their low-scoring County Championship match at Lord’s.


Resuming the day on 121 for one in pursuit of 167, the hosts easily reached their target to complete their fourth win of the season.


Twenty-three wickets tumbled on the first day of the game on Sunday after Middlesex won the toss and opted to bowl. Barbadian Collymore, who played 30 Tests for West Indies snared three for 24 in Kent’s first innings of 87 and returned to take two for 45 as the visitors fell for 232 in their second innings.


Middlesex also struggled in their first innings, dismissed for a paltry 153. Collymore, in his first season with Middlesex after spending two seasons at Sussex, has so far taken 22 wickets at an average of 25.
