Wolf’s Warriors, Regal through to final

Georgetown, Guyana - Wolf’s Warriors defeated Trophy Stall ‘A’ and Regal thrashed Farm in the semi-finals of the Trophy Stall-sponsored softball cricket tournament at the GCC ground, Bourda, last Sunday.

Wolf’s Warriors batting first against Trophy Stall ‘A’, posted 194 all out off their 20 overs.

Mohamed Karim (33) and Safraz Karim (29) were the main scorers, while S. Budhu took 3-17 and Fazal Rafeek 2-30. Trophy Stall ‘A’ were then restricted to 133 all out off 15 overs. Budhu made 35, while Azad Azeez bagged 4-7, Narine Bailey 3-28 and Ammer Nizamidin 3-29 as Wolf’s Warriors won by 61 runs.

In the other match, Regal was too good for Farm, prevailing by 133 runs. Regal rattled up 212-9 from their 20 overs with Ricky Sargeant (30), K Joseph (27), M Kayume (25) and R Latiff (23) being the main scorers.

L Marks took 4-52 and B Ramsarran 2 for 30. Farm in reply was bundled out for 79 off 12.4 overs. A Aziz was 26 not out at the end as M Bob took 4-25 and Latif 2-13.

The Masters semi-finals, along with the remaining female qualifying matches and female semi-finals will be played on Saturday at the DCC ground from 15:00h and continue under floodlights. In the qualifying match, 4R Lioness will take on Fazal Kayume’s Angels in the first game.

The two female semi-finals will be played at 17:45h. On Pitch Two, Wellwoman will play Karibee Strikers of Berbice, and on Pitch One, Trophy Stall Angels will take on the winner of the 4R Lioness versus Fazal Kayume Angels.

In the Masters Over-40 semi-finals at 19:00h on the Pitch One, Floodlights will take on Park Rangers and on the Pitch Two, Industry Super Kings will do battle with Success Masters. The finals are slated for April 26 under floodlights at the DCC ground, Queenstown.
