West Indies A make late inroads after Manzoor ton

Arnos Vale, St Vincet - Opener Khurram Manzoor’s century took Pakistan A to 239 for 7 at the end of the first day’s play of the Second Digicel ‘Test’ against West Indies A at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.

Manzoor scored 104 off 209 balls and hit 16 fours in his innings which lasted just over five hours. He received support from fellow opener Umair Khan who struck 41 as left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul topped the bowling charts with 3 for 56 from 24 overs.

Dr Hunte sends condolences to Frank Thomas widow

St John's, Antigua - West Indies Cricket Board President Dr. Julian Hunte has sent condolences to the widow and children of Frank Thomas.

Thomas, a stalwart of Windward Islands and West Indies cricket, died at the age of 86 in St Vincent.

He leaves to mourn his widow Annelle Thomas and their three children – Alana, Bernard and Alison.

Guyana & Jamaica in mega clash for Caribbean T20 opener

St John's, Antigua - Reigning Caribbean Twenty20 champions Guyana and star studded Jamaica will clash in a mega feature encounter on the opening day of Caribbean Twenty20 2011 on January 10th at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds in Antigua.

Windies A reach 63/0 at lunch

Arnos Vale, St Vincent - West Indies A progressed to 63 without loss by lunch on day one of the First Digicel ‘Test’ against Pakistan A at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.

Nevisian left hander Kieran Powell is on 33 from 100 balls while Kraigg Brathwaite has 26 from 90 deliveries.

Windies A left out opener Rajendra Chandrika and fast bowler Brandon Bess.

Pakistan A won the toss and asked the Caribbean side to bat first.

Rawl Lewis joins WICB

St John's, Antigua - The West Indies Cricket Board announces that former West Indies cricketer and Windward Islands Captain Rawl Lewis has joined the WICB’s Operations Department.
