Windwards announce under-15 squad for regional competition:
CASTRIES, St. Lucia - Grenadian all rounder Johan Jeremiah has been named captain of a 14 member Windward Islands under-15 team to participate in this year's West Indies under-15 cricket tournament.
The squad, along with three reserves were announced here Sunday following the completion of the annual Windward Islands under-15 tournament won by host nation St Lucia. Most Valuable player of the tournament Johnnel Eugene was named vice-captain.
The full squad selected includes Jahseon Alexander (Dominica), Daneal Dupigny (Dominica), Dane Edward (St Lucia), Johnnel Eugene ( vice-captain, St Lucia), Simeon Gerson (St Lucia), Johan Jeremiah (captain - Grenada), Micah Joseph (Dominica), Obadele Joseph (Grenada) , Shermill Lewis (Grenada), Jeron Noel (Grenada), Kimani Melius (St Lucia), Alastair Shallow (St. Vincent and the Grenadines), Tahj Tavernier (Dominica), Urnel Thomas (St Vincent and the Grenadines).
Reserves selected are Dave Duncan (St Vincent and the Grenadines), Rashon John (St Vincent and the Grenadines), Jard Goodman (St Lucia).
A number of awards were also presented after the tournament. Most catches went to Johnnel Eugene (7), Most dismissals by a wicket-keeper Tahj Tavernier, Most wickets went to Simeon Gerson and Johann Jeremiah 13 each.
Johnnel Eugene had the most runs 203, and was named the tournament's overall Most Valuable Player with 203 runs, 10 wickets and seven catches.
The most valuable player for the respective teams were Johann Jeremiah (Grenada), Micah Joseph (Dominica), Oneil Thomas (St Vincent and the Grenadines) and Johnnel Eugene (St Lucia).
