Lett & Hosein named in Windies U19 squad for India tour

St John’s, Antigua – Emmanuel Lett and Akeal Hosein have been named by the West Indies Cricket Board Selection Committee as part of a powerful 15 man West Indies Under 19 squad for the quadrangular in India. Test batsman Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the side which includes 12 of the 14 members who were on the last West Indies Under 19 tour to Florida. Full squad Kraigg Brathwaite – Barbados – Captain Anthony Alleyne – Barbados Sunil Ambris – St Vincent Ronsford Beaton – Guyana John Campbell - Jamaica Derone Davis – Trinidad and Tobago Justin Greaves – Barbados Kavem Hodge – Dominica

Windies U19 face Sri Lanka in opener

ST JOHN'S, Antigua (CMC) - West Indies Under-19s will open their one-day quadrangular series against Sri Lanka when the tournament bowls off in India at month end. The series, which runs from September 27 to October 9, will also involve the hosts and Australia. All teams will play each other twice, with the two top teams meeting in the final on October 9 and the two bottom teams playing for the third spot.

Estwick calls for wider use of video analysis

Bridgetown, Barbados– West Indies Under 19 Head Coach and Sagicor High Performance Center Bowling Coach Roddy Estwick is appealing to Territorial Boards to incorporate greater use of video analysis to aid in the improvement of player performance in regional tournaments.

“Video analysis is perhaps the most important coaching tool in modern cricket and we need to ensure we utilize it widely, especially the at the regional team level,” Estwick pleaded.

WICB Regional U19 schedule announced

Georgetown, Guyana– Defending 3 Day champions Windward Islands will take on Barbados in the opening round of the WICB Regional Under 19 Tournament in Guyana starting on Monday July 18th.

The other two first round matches are Trinidad & Tobago v Jamaica and hosts Guyana going up against Leeward Islands.

The tournament, in its 44th year was won by the Windward Islands for the second time in 2010 after their initial triumph in 2000 when the tournament was also hosted in Guyana.
