Rain ruins start of Day 2

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, Nov 13, CMC – Heavy overnight and early morning rain has ruined any chance of play before lunch on the second day of the second and final four-day “Test” between West Indies A and Bangladesh A at the Beausejour Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Officials are expected to make another inspection at 12:30 pm to determine a start time for play.

West Indies A are set to resume on 72 for seven in response to Bangladesh A’s first innings of 155 all out.

Windies A in trouble in St Lucia

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – West Indies, responding to Bangladesh A’s 155 all out, were 72 for seven at the close on the opening day of the second four-day “Test” at the Beausejour Cricket Ground here Saturday.

Dwayne Smith to captain WI A for T20s

St John’s, Antigua – West Indies all rounder Dwayne Smith will captain the West Indies A Twenty20 Team which will face Bangladesh A in two Digicel T20s at the Beausejour Cricket Ground in St Lucia.

The 28 year old who cracked a century on his Test debut against South Africa in 2004 has played in 10 Tests and 10 Twenty20 Internationals along with 77 One Day Internationals.

Brooks joins Windies A for 'Test'

St John’s, Antigua – Barbadian batsman Shamarh Brooks has been added to the West Indies A ‘Test’ squad which will face Bangladesh A in the Second Digicel ‘Test’ at the Beausejour Cricket Ground in St Lucia starting on Saturday November 12th.

The 13 man squad for the First Digicel ‘Test’ at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds was reduced to 12 following injury to Dwayne Bravo.

Brooks, a Sagicor High Performance Centre graduate, has featured in 16 First Class matches for his native Barbados and also played in 11 List A matches.

Bonner ton keeps Windies A safe

NORTH SOUND, Antigua, CMC – Nkrumah Bonner stroked an attractive century to help salvage a draw for West Indies A on the final day of the opening “Test” against Bangladesh A here Tuesday.

Unbeaten on 70 overnight, Bonner carried on to 127 as West Indies were eventually dismissed for 296 all out, after resuming on 198 for six.

Set 233 for victory, Bangladesh A were struggling at 30 for two before Jahurul Islam (41) and Raqibul Hasan (27) added 55 for the third wicket to see the visitors out of danger.
