Windies romp to series levelling victory

Hamilton, New Zealand - West Indies put in a commanding performance in the 5th ODI to square the series as the regional side score an impressive 203-run victory over New Zealand.

Jamaican spinner, Nikita Miller, led the destruction taking 4-45 to dismantle the host's batting line-up. Jason Holder was also crucial up top, taking two quick wickets after captain Dwayne Bravo got the breakthrough of Martin Guptill.

Andre Russell, who came into the side today, came on during the middle overs and nabbed two wickets as the Windies cruised to a series levelling victory in Hamilton.

Captain Dwayne Bravo and Kirk Edwards both hit tons as West Indies amassed 363/4 from their 50 overs in the 5th and final ODI against New Zealand.

Openers Kieran Powell and Johnson Charles laid the platform with an opening stand of 95 runs before the Windies lost their way a little bit. However, Edwards and Bravo combined in a 211 run partnership for the 5th wicket.

The partnership lasted 25 overs long. All of New Zealand's bowlers, except Kane Williamson, went for over 50 runs in their spells.

New Zealand won the toss in the 5th and final One Day International against the West Indies and elected to first first.

The West Indies are walking wounded after Darren Sammy followed Marlon Samuels out of the series with a strained hamstring. Andre Russell replaces Tino Best in the team while Kieran Powell comes in for Narsingh Deonarine.

Available for selection today will be the three call-ups for the two-match Twenty20 series in Andre Fletcher, Andre Russell and Samuel Badree.

New Zealand lead the 5-match ODI series 2-1 after the second match was rained out in Napier. The hosts enjoyed another winning display in the 4th ODI, winning by 58 runs on Duckworth Lewis.
