West Indies looking for a win against Sri Lanka

NOTTINGHAM, England -- The West Indies have qualified for the Super Eights stage of the International Cricket Council’s World Twenty20 Tournament, but they won’t be easing up when they play their final Group C match against Sri Lanka on Wednesday. The West Indies had a first round triumph over Australia when captain Chris Gayle hammered an amazing 88 off 50 balls which included six sixes. On Monday Sri Lanka defeated Australia thereby eliminated the Aussies, as the top two teams from the group advanced.

LONDON, England -- The West Indies will be taking it one step at a time as they seek to advance to the Super Eights stage of the International Cricket Council’s World Twenty20 Tournament, here in England.

Speaking on Monday after an early morning training session, Head Coach John Dyson said his team is looking to do the basics well and maintain the momentum from the superb first round win over Australia.

Amazing Gayle seals sensational win

LONDON, England -- West Indies captain Chris Gayle displayed his awesome power as the West Indies recorded a sensational victory by seven wickets over Australia in their opening match in the International Cricket Council’s World Twenty20 Tournament on Saturday.

Playing in front a large and supportive crowd at The Oval, Gayle blasted 88 with six sixes and six fours from just 50 balls as West Indies made 172-3 off 15.5 overs to easily knock off Australia’s 169-7 with 4.1 overs to spare.
