Roach named Man-of-the-Series as West Indies draw in Sri Lanka

Kandy, Sri Lanka – West Indies fast bowler Kemar Roach bowled his heart out to earn the Man-of-the-Series award in the just concluded three-match rubber against Sri Lanka.  The Test series, which was heavily hit by rain, ended on Sunday when the third Test was declared a draw.

West Indies reach 303 for 8 on another day of heavy rain

Kandy, Sri Lanka – Rain continued to disrupt the 3rd ERI Test match between West Indies and Sri Lanka, with just 22.3 overs of play possible on Day 4, Saturday. In the time available the Windies moved to 303-8 from their overnight 244-5. Over 200 overs have been lost in the match so far due to bad light and rain.

Chanderpaul happy to make a contribution to West Indies cause

Kandy, Sri Lanka – Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the West Indies batting stalwart, made a return to form on Thursday with a typically patient 54 as the Windies reached 244 for 5 on the second day of the 3rd ERI Test match at the Pallekele Stadium.

Chanderpaul, in his 219th Test innings, hit three boundaries to record his 55th Test half-century. He was defiant for 145 balls and it took a superb one-handed catch by Mahela Jayawardena off Ajantha Mendis to send him back.

Shiv and Nash add 99 but rain brings a halt to second day's play

Kandy, Sri Lanka – Shivnarine Chanderpaul made a patient half-century and Brendan Nash played some handsome strokes in an unbeaten half-century as the West Indies reached 244-5 on the second day of the 3rd ERI Test match at the Pallekele Stadium in this central city.

Test League closer after Chief Executives meeting in Dubai

Dubai – The ICC Chief Executives’ Committee meeting in Dubai this week has made excellent progress towards finalising the Future Tours Programme plus the Test and One-Day International league schedules. It also began the process of drawing up rules, regulations and a points system for the leagues.
