Colombo: West Indies will be hoping all members of the squad get into the World Cup groove when they face Sri Lanka in the second official ICC Cricket World Cup match at R Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.

First ball in the day/night match is 2.30 pm (5 am Eastern Caribbean Time/4 am Jamaica Time).

Lions trump Barbados in runfest

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Barbados suffered another setback in the WICB Regional first-class championship on Monday, when James Taylor stroked his seventh first-class hundred to lead England Lions to first innings points in their drawn match.

The Barbadian bowling again lacked teeth on a hard, easy-paced Kensington Oval pitch and Man-of-the-Match Taylor gathered 186, as the Lions were dismissed for 538, replying to Barbados’ first innings total of 471, on the final day of their second round match.

Partnerships will be key, says Sarwan

Colombo, Sri Lanka – West Indies batsman Ramanresh Sarwan believes that partnerships will be a key factor in winning the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in Asia.

The 30-year-old said that the teams which play the best “team cricket” and build “good partnerships with bat and ball” will be successful.
