Lunch Day 5: Shiv makes 23rd Test ton

Roseau, Dominica, CMC – Shivnarine Chanderpaul reached his 23rd Test hundred to carry the fight for West Indies, and extend their lead to 151 in the third and final Digicel Test against India on Sunday.

Chanderpaul was undefeated on 105 and Fidel Edwards was not out on 16, as West Indies, trailing by 143 on first innings, reached 294 for eight at the interval on the final day at Windsor Park.

The pair added 38 – unbroken – for the ninth wicket, after West Indies lost their captain Darren Sammy and Ravi Rampaul in quick succession.

Windies enter final day with hope thanks to Kirk Edwards ton

Roseau, Dominica – Middle-order batsman Kirk Edwards hit a superb 110 on his Test debut as West Indies reached 224 for six on the fourth day of the Third and final Digicel Tes against India at Windsor Park on Saturday.

West Indies have a lead of 81 runs with four second-innings wickets remaining after three wickets near the close put the brought the India back on top.

Brilliant Kirk Edwards gets ton on Test debut

Roseau, Dominica – Kirk Edwards made a brilliant century in just his second Test innings as West Indies fought back against India on the fourth evening of the Third Digicel Test match at Windsor Park.

He was cheered by the vocal and colourful crowd of 7,000 fans who packed into the Park for the country’s inaugural Test match. Edwards, a strongly-built six-footer, was on 100 not out as the West Indies reached 189-3 in the second innings., He has so far added 149 for the fourth wicket with Shiv Chanderpaul (59 not out).

Tea Day 4: Debutant Kirk Edwards hits maiden Test 50

Roseau, Dominica, CMC – Kirk Edwards stroked a maiden half-century, and shared a defiant fourth-wicket stand with Shivnarine Chanderpaul to help West Indies stage a fight-back against India before tea in the Third Digicel Test on Saturday.

At the break, Edwards was unbeaten on 62 and Chanderpaul was not out on 25, as West Indies, trailing by 143 on first innings, reached 116 for three in their second innings on the fourth day at Windsor Park.

India close 104 ahead but WI show fight

Roseau, Dominica, CMC – West Indies bowlers worked hard in tough conditions on the third day of the Third Digicel Test but India seized control with a solid batting performance at Windsor Park on Friday.
