Sri Lanka bat first in 2nd Test

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat on the opening day of the 2nd ERI Test against West Indies on Tuesday at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
The Sri Lankans have made three changes, with debutant fast bowler Suranga Lakmal, seamer Nuwan Kulasekara and with left-arm spinner Rangana Herath, replacing Thilan Mirando Thushara, Suraj Randiv, and Dammika Prasad.

Galle, Sri Lanka – West Indies will enter the 2nd ERI Test match against Sri Lanka with confidence. The two sides will meet at the Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday and the Windies will be eager to repeat the good showing from last week's 1st ERI Test at the Galle International Stadium. First ball is 10 am (12.30 am Eastern Caribbean Time/11.30 am Jamaica Time).

St John's, Antigua - Reigning Caribbean Twenty20 champions Guyana and star studded Jamaica will clash in a mega feature encounter on the opening day of Caribbean Twenty20 2011 on January 10th at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds in Antigua.

Shillingford is focussed, has our full support, says Gibson

Colombo, Sri Lanka – West Indies Head Coach Ottis Gibson and the West Indies Team has given full support to off-spinner Shane Shillingford. Gibson spoke on Sunday after the Windies had a training session at Singhalese Sports Club.

Gibson said: “I had a very good chat with Shane and he understands what is going on. We are 100 percent behind Shane. The entire team is behind him and he knows he has our full support. Our job is to keep Shane focussed on the upcoming match and the Series.

Sri Lanka make two changes for 2nd Test at Premadasa

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Sri Lanka have made two changes to the squad to face the West Indies in the 2nd ERI Test match at the Premadasa Stadium in the capital city of Colombo, on Tuesday. Following the draw in the 1st Test at Galle International Stadium, the home side have dropped fast bowlers Dammika Prasad and Thilan Thushara.
