Gibson has faith in his pace trio

Delhi, India – Head Coach Ottis Gibson believes he has a trio of young fast bowlers who can bring glory to the West Indies in the 10th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Speaking to the Indian media after a three-hour session at the Air Force Ground, Gibson, a former fast bowler, spoke about the team’s readiness for what is expected to be the biggest event in the game’s history.

Shiv quiet, confident ahead of fifth CWC

Delhi, India – West Indies batting stalwart Shiv Chanderpaul is quietly confident of getting “it all together” when the West Indies open their ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 campaign against South Africa next week.

The 36-year-old left-hander who is entering his fifth World Cup said he is doing fine in the build-up to the most anticipated event in the game’s history.

TT fightback after Gale ton

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Rayad Emrit and Shannon Gabriel shared six wickets to lead a Trinidad & Tobago fight-back, after Andrew Gale led the England Lions’ batting with a hundred in the WICB Regional first-class championship on Friday.

Emrit has so far taken three wickets for 47 runs from 17.5 overs, and Gabriel captured three for 72 from 13 overs, as the Lions, choosing to bat, reached 311 for nine in their first innings at the close on the opening day of their third round match at Queen’s Park Oval.
