CT20 full of action on first three days

North South, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 came to life on Wednesday night with two exciting finishes in Group A at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Defending champions Guyana too four wickets in the last over to defeat Somerset Sabres by one run in the opening match of the day. In the night match, Combined Campuses & Colleges timed their run-chase to perfection to beat Jamaica by 7 wickets with an over to spare.

Stage set for start of Caribbean T20

St John’s, Antigua – The stage is set for the start of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 tournament at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

WICB pays tribute to Joey Carew – “a true stalwart of WI cricket”

St John’s Antigua – President of the West Indies Cricket Board Dr. Julian Hunte sent sincere condolences to the wife, Marion, and sons – Michael and David – of former West Indies batsman and Chairman of Selectors Michael ‘Joey’ Carew who passed last evening.

Carew who played 19 Tests for the West Indies was the WICB’s longest serving selector having served three stints starting in the 1970s.

Windies girls start tour with a win

Mumbai, India – The West Indies Women started their tour of India on a winning note as they defeated the BCCI President’s XI by five wickets in their opening match on Saturday.

The Windies limited the home side to 183-9 off 50 overs and then moved to 186-5 to win with eight overs to spare at the Bandra Kurla Complex.

WICB EXTENDS AGREEMENT WITH ESPN

St John’s Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced an historic three year agreement withbroadcast partner ESPN.

Under the new deal, ESPN in the Caribbean and ESPN3.com in the US, will broadcast Caribbean T20 and other WICB regional tournaments live to audiences across the globe. Highlights packages of West Indies international home series will also air on ESPN in the Caribbean.
