Sharad Pawar becomes seventh ICC President

Sharad Pawar, the former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), assumed the role of International Cricket Council's President in succession to David Morgan at the annual conference in Singapore today.

Mr Pawar begins a two-year term as ICC President and he thanked Mr Morgan, a former chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, for his “impressive innings” as ICC President during the last two years.

ICC Annual Conference week begins in Singapore

The International Cricket Council's annual conference week begins on Sunday with the Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) meeting at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore and ends on July 1 2010 with the inauguration of the seventh ICC President, Sharad Pawar, at the annual conference.

Five Australian legends inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame

SYDNEY, Australia -- Ray Lindwall, Keith Miller, Bill O’Reilly, Victor Trumper and Steve Waugh were formally inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame during the tea interval on the second day of the second Test between Australia and Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Monday. 

Fast bowling great Lillee inducted into Hall of Fame

PERTH, Australia -- One of Australia’s greatest fast bowlers, Dennis Lillee, was formally inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame at the tea interval on the second day of the third Test between Australia and the West Indies in Perth.

The Hall of Fame, run in association with the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), recognises some of the truly great players from cricket’s long and illustrious history.

South Africa aims to regain top Test ranking

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- South Africa aims to regain the Number One Test ranking in the Reliance Mobile ICC Test Championship when it goes head to head with England in the four-Test series at Centurion on Wednesday.

South Africa, which lost its coveted position to India on 6 December, will need to beat England by 2-0 or better to reclaim the top spot which it had taken over from Australia after Ricky Ponting’s side lost the Ashes earlier this summer.
