GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – Pakistan defeated West Indies by eight wickets in the opening Digicel One Day International of the five-match series at the Beausejour Cricket Stadium today.

Windies rally to 221 for 6

Gros Islet, St Lucia, CMC – A late innings flurry from captain Darren Sammy lifted West Indies to 221-6 against Pakistan, in the 1st Digicel One-Day International of the five-match series here Saturday.

Sammy spanked an unbeaten 29 from 17 balls as West Indies frenetically gathered 43 runs from the last five overs, after their top order had been kept quiet by off-spinners Saeed Ajmal and Mohammad Hafeez.

Windies win toss & bat

GROS ISLET, St Lucia, CMC – West Indies won the toss and chose to bat in the opening Digicel OneDay International of the five-match Digicel series against Pakistan at the Beausejour Cricket Stadium.

A young Windies side won the Digicel Twenty20 on Thursday. Livewire all rounder Dwayne Bravo returns to action after recovering from injury while Devon Smith, Kirk Edwards and Carlton Baugh who did not participate in the Digicel T20 are back in action.

Windies fined for slow over rate

Gros Islet, St Lucia - The West Indies team has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during its seven-run victory over Pakistan in the Twenty20 International (T20I) in St Lucia on Friday.

Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed the fines after Darren Sammy’s side was ruled to be one over short of its target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration.

Brathwaite honoured to lead WI U19

Dubai, United Arab Emirates Captain of the West Indies Under-19 team Kraigg Brathwaite is proud of the team’s performance in the ongoing series against Australia. The right-handed opener added that he’s extremely proud to be leading the side as they prepare for the three-day “Test” match.
