PREVIEW: Windies seek win at Kensington

Bridgetown, Barbados, CMC – Captain Darren Sammy says an improved performance from his batsmen and bowlers will be needed if West Indies are to arrest their losing slide against Pakistan when the third Digicel One-Day International on Thursday.

First ball is 9.30 am (8.30 am Jamaica Time).

The Windies will be looking for a victory to stay alive in the series, after losing the double-header in St Lucia last week to fall behind 0-2 in the five-match rubber.

Windies Under-19 fall to UAE "A"

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, CMC – Another resolute innings from Kraigg Brathwaite was overshadowed by an undefeated hundred from Shaiman Anwar that led United Arab Emirates “A” Team to a six-wicket victory over West Indies Under-19s on Thursday.

Windies bat first after rain delay

Bridgetown, Barbados, CMC – Pakistan won the toss and chose to field in the rain-delayed third Digicel One-Day International against West Indies on Thursday at Kensington Oval.

Pakistan are unchanged, but West Indies have made two changes, bringing fast bowlers Andre Russell and Ravi Rampaul back into their line-up in place of leg-spinner Anthony Martin and wicketkeeper/batsman Carlton Baugh. Lendl Simmons will keep wicket.

Roach looks to deliver on home soil

Bridgetown, Barbados - West Indies pace bowler Kemar Roach is looking to put his best foot forward when the Windies meet Pakistan in the Third Digicel One Day International on Thursday.

The match will be played at the historic Kensington Oval on National Heroes Day – a public holiday. First ball is 9.30 am (8.30 am Jamaica Time).

Roach, who was born and raised in Barbados, said the match is a golden opportunity to perform in front of his hometown supporters.

Coach Estwick full of praise for Windies Under-19s

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Coach of the West Indies Under-19 Team Roddy Estwick has lauded his players for their outstanding performances in the just-concluded series against Australia Under-19s.
 
The Windies outplayed the Aussies to earn a four-wicket win in the three-day “Test” match, which ended on Monday. Last week they won the three-match One-Day Series 2-1. All matches were played at the Global Cricket Academy.
