England open ICC T20I rankings at Number 1

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Reigning International Cricket Council World Twenty20 champion England was unveiled as the Number 1 ranked side in the shortest format of the game as the Reliance ICC Twenty20 International (T20I) team rankings were launched at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Monday.

Third day of Test lost to rain

Chittagong, Bangladesh – Play was called off due to rain for a second successive day without a ball being bowled in the first Test match between Bangladesh and the West Indies at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdury  Stadium on Sunday.

There was rain late Saturday night and into early Sunday morning which affected the outfield, already water-logged after Saturday's showers.

Fidel checks in on injured Nafees

Chittagong, Bangladesh - West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards made it his business to check up on Bangladesh batsman Shahriar Nafees, who was struck in the face on the opening day of the first Test.

The left-handed Nafees tried to hook a quick short ball from Edwards and was late on the stroke. The ball smashed the grill of his helmet and caused bruising above his right eye.

Impressive Rampaul makes leap up ODI rankings

Chittagong, Bangladesh - West Indies fast bowler continues to make stride in his bowling and has made a giant leap up the International Cricket Council’s One-Day International rankings.

Rampaul, who recently celebrated his 27th birthday, was the biggest movers in the rankings released by the ICC earlier this week. The strong right-armer climbed 12 places after figures of 2-35 and 2-27 against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

No play on second day of first Test

Chittagong, Bangladesh -- The second day in the first Test match between Bangladesh and West Indies at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium was called off on Saturday due to heavy overnight rain that left the outfield wet and unfit for play.

The match referee and umpires made the decision after an inspection at 11 am. The groundstaff spent the entire morning and afternoon mopping up. Play will resume 30 minutes earlier than scheduled on Sunday at 9 am (11 pm Saturday Eastern Caribbean Time/10 pm Jamaica Time).
