Decisions following WICB Board meeting

Gros Islet, St Lucia – The Board of Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board met in St Lucia over the weekend and took a number of decisions pertaining to functioning of West Indies cricket. Following are highlights of  some of the decisions taken and reports presented.

Simmons replaces injured Barath

 

Chittagong, Bangladesh – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that right-handed opener Lendl Simmons will replace fellow right-hander Adrian Barath in the squad for the Test Series in Bangladesh.

Windies lose final ODI, take series 2-1

Chittagong, Bangladesh, CMC – West Indies were beaten by Bangladesh in the third One-Day International here Tuesday after they were dismissed for 61.

West Indies however took the series 2-1 following convincing wins by 40 runs and eight wickets in Dhaka last week.

Sent in on a difficult wicket, the Windies plunged from a position of 33 for one in the 11th over, losing their last nine wickets for 28 runs in the space of 67 balls at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Sammy: There is a good atmosphere

Chittagong, Bangladesh, CMC – Darren Sammy said the West Indies dressing room has been a happier place to be following their two victories over Bangladesh in their One-day International series.

The West Indies captain said on the eve of the final ODI between the two sides on Tuesday at the Chowdhury Stadium.

Windies aiming for clean sweep of ODI Series

Chittagong, Bangladesh – The West Indies are determined to make a clean sweep of the One-Day International series against Bangladesh with a victory in the third and final match, skipper Darren Sammy said on Monday.

The Windies have already gained an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series after winning the opening one-dayer by 40 runs and the second by eight wickets in Dhaka last week. A 3-0 series result would see the visitors earning four points in the International Cricket Council's One-Day International rankings.
