St John’s, Antigua– The West Indies Cricket Board will offer full support to Shane Shillingford following his bowling action being deemed to be beyond the allowable limit of the International Cricket Council.
Dubai, UAE - The International Cricket Council today confirmed that an independent test had found the bowling action of the West Indies’ off-spinner Shane Shillingford to be illegal and, as such, the player has been suspended from bowling in international cricket.
A comprehensive analysis revealed that his mean elbow extension was 17 degrees which is above the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the relevant regulations.
