Kraigg hails “big” first wicket

Kolkata, India — Kraigg Barthwaite flashed the biggest smile you would ever see when he took the “big” wicket of Rahul Dravid close to the end of the first day of the second Test match at Eden Gardens.

KOLKATA, India, Nov 14, IANS/CMC – Maestro Rahul Dravid’s 36th Test century put India in early control of the second Test here Monday, as West Indies’ bowlers struggled to contain the hosts’ batting juggernaut.

The right-hander hit a classic 119 as India, opting to bat first at Eden Gardens, finished the day on 346 for five.

While Dravid flourished, legendary teammate Sachin Tendular failed in his pursuit of 100 international hundreds, falling well short when he was out for 38.

KOLKATA, INDIA – TOSS – As the curtain rises on the 2nd Test match between hosts India and the West Indies; India won the toss and elected to bat first this morning at Eden Gardens.

Windies upbeat ahead of 2nd Test

Kolkata, India — West Indies batsmen have been urged to be positive but not reckless when they face India in the second Test match at Eden Gardens which bowls off on Monday.

The batsmen have been told “not to go into a shell” while the bowlers have been asked to “maintain the good work and strive for better” as they look for that all important “tick” in the win column and draw level in the three-match series.
