Fit Barath back for India Tests

St John’s, Antigua – Trinidadian opening batsman Adrian Barath has recovered from a hamstring injury and has been included in the West Indies Test squad to face India in three Tests starting on November 6th in Delhi.

Barath who suffered the injury in the first One Day International of the current Bangladesh tour remained with the squad while Lendl Simmons had replaced him for the Bangladesh Tests.

Simmons will return to the Caribbean following the completion of the Bangladesh tour.

Bravo's breakthrough as Windies dominate

Mirpur, Bangladesh - Darren Bravo scored his first international century while Kirk Edwards missed his second of the match as West Indies tightened their grip over Bangladesh in the second Test on Monday.

After removing the three remaining Bangladesh wickets in just over an hour to earn a 124-run first innings lead, the dominant tourists finished day three on 207-3 to brighten their victory prospects after three days at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Fidel: The plan was pace

Dhaka, Bangladesh — Fidel Edwards got fired up on Sunday and produced a superb spell of pace bowling to cut through the Bangladesh batting as West Indies took control on the second day of the second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Two Edwards the fore as Windies take full control

Mirpur, Bangladesh, CMC – Fidel Edwards followed up a second Test hundred from unrelated compatriot Kirk Edwards with a devastating opening spell to put West Indies in control of the second Test against Bangladesh on Sunday.

Fidel grabbed five wickets for 58 runs from 12 overs to leave Bangladesh wobbling on 204 for seven, replying to West Indies’ first innings total of 355 at the close on the second day.

India drop Harbhajan, call up Ashwin

Delhi, India, – The Indian selectors Friday called up off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and picked several youngsters in the squad, while seasoned pro Harbhajan Singh would have to sit out the first Test against West Indies on November 6 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.

Fit again Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, and Ishant Sharma are also in the 15-member squad announced by Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Sanjay Jagdale after a meeting of the senior selection committee.
