Bravo backs Narine to shine

Kingston, Jamaica — West Indies Vice Captain Dwayne Bravo says the form off-spinner Sunil Narine will be a key factor against New Zealand as the two teams prepare for the Digicel One-Day International series.

“He's our trump card. He's a good bowler and we expect him to do very well. He had a good showing in Florida last weekend during the Twenty20 series and he is confident of doing the same in the ODI series,” Bravo said of Narine."

Black Caps lose Gillespie for Tests

CHRIST CHURCH, New Zealand, CMC – Fast bowler Mark Gillespie has been ruled out of the Test series against West Indies with injury. The 32-year-old suffered a severe sprain while jogging and has had to withdraw from the 15-man squad.

“Mark unfortunately has had to withdraw from the upcoming Test series against the West Indies having not responded to treatment in time to be fully fit,” national selection manager Kim Littlejohn said.
