Man of Series goes to Gayle

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Chris Gayle proved once again on Sunday why he is one of the most feared batsmen in world cricket as he piloted West Indies to back-to-back wins over New Zealand.

The powerful left-hander made 53 off 39 balls with four sixes as West Indies won by 61 runs. On Saturday Gayle made 85 not out as the home side won by 56 runs as the West Indies mark a successful start to international cricket in the United States.

Windies win big, take series 2-0

Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Chris Gayle smashed his second successive fifty and spinner Sunil Narine claimed 4-12 as West Indies romped to a 61-run victory over New Zealand to win 2-0 in the Digicel Twenty20 series in the United States.

Rain ruins Round 1 of Under 17 Tourney

SCARBOROUGH, TOBAGO - Persistent rainfall in Tobago prevented any play in Round 1 of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Under 17 Tournament that was scheduled to begin on Sunday.

Early morning rain on the island delayed the start of play at all three venues and did enough damage to force the abandonment of play when it did stop falling.

Windies set NZ 178 to win

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, CMC – West Indies won the toss and batted and reached 177 for five off their 20 overs in the second and final Digicel Twenty20 International against New Zealand at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium on Sunday.

Chris Gayle again led the way with 53 off 39 balls with four mighty sixes. Dwayne Bravo came in at the end and blasted 35 not out off just 11 balls to set New Zealand a challenging target.
